Dr. Ja'net is a national speaker, best-selling author, veteran, and former school guidance counselor and principal. As the founder of Boots to Breakthrough LLC and an Educational Productivity Consultant and Coach, she brings her passion for leadership and education to empower leaders and educators with tools to boost productivity, manage stress, and build resilience, leading to improved work-life balance. Through her engaging workshops, customized coaching sessions, and nationally recognized speaking engagements, Dr. Ja'net promotes well-being strategies that enhance leadership, teaching practices, student outcomes, and overall school improvement.
With a diverse background that includes serving as a K-12 school counselor, adjunct professor, veteran Army officer, and mentor, Dr. Ja'net is passionate about leadership and educator well-being. She has presented at various levels—from schools to national conferences—on topics related to education, empowerment, and entrepreneurship. Her expertise has been featured in media outlets such as CNN, local affiliates for networks FOX, CBS, NBC, and various publications, including Atlanta Women Magazine and Focus on Fabulous Magazine.
Dr. Ja'net is the author of several books, including How Much Joy Is in Your Journey? A Creative Guide to Your Fearless Vision, 90-Day Gratitude Journal: 5 Minutes a Day – Create the Life You Love to Live, and From Grief to Growth: 8 Dimensions to Wellness Through Self-Care. She is also a contributing author in best-selling anthologies such as If She Can: Inspiring Stories of Grit, Hope, and Courage, Stand Up! Resilient Black Women Who Are Shaping the World With Their Faith, and more.
Dr. Ja'net holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science & Nutrition from Hunter College (NY), a Master’s in Guidance and Counseling from Campbell University (NC), an Education Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision from Augusta State University (GA), and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Georgia Southern University (GA).
She is the proud mother of two sons, William II and Matthew Bishop, and following her husband's passing in 2016, she found love again with Vernon Nesbit (retired Air Force), marrying in 2021 and embracing two bonus sons, Isaiah and Malcolm Nesbit. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her grandson Quincy, fitness, reading, travel, and relaxing by the beach.
